DIRECTIONS: We are located at the corner of Broadway and Giles Ave, in Marion Section of Jersey City, near West Side Avenue, just west of Journal Square.

BUILDING: The Ethical Community Charter School (TECCS) is located at 95 Broadway Jersey City, in the former home of Mt. Carmel School in the Marion section of JC. The building, constructed in 1954, boasts a full size gymnasium, with a proscenium stage at one end and a recently installed projection system. The building has twelve large, sunny classrooms, as well as ample office space. The basement level has a sizable cafeteria and a full kitchen. In short, it is a wonderful facility with many desirable amenities.

OUTDOOR SPACE:  The school is at the corner of Broadway and Giles – a wide, quiet side street that is easily closed to traffic for morning drop–offs, outdoor time at lunch, and afternoon pickups. There is a safe and well–maintained public playground, ideal for recess time, just a block away on West Side Avenue. And, as the icing on the cake, the building was constructed so the roof is easily accessible and strong enough to support a future rooftop playground and garden space – and, thinking even further ahead, potentially another level of classrooms.

TRANSPORTATION:  Parents who live outside of the Marion neighborhood might want to coordinate informal carpool arrangements with neighbors or, depending on interest, even organize a bus program (charter schools in Jersey City are not allowed to provide school buses – but there is nothing that keeps parents from doing so!). TECCS will do everything possible to connect parents interested in pursuing such arrangements. Further, the school is not far from Journal Square, Jersey City's main transportation hub.
